Don Boozer

Fresh out of the University of North Texas in 1967 and needing a job to support his growing family, Don desperately searched for a position that would pay more than the $425 per month that he was earning working as an assistant manager for Buddies Supermarkets.

As luck would have it, a man called on Don and offered to sell him a $10,000 whole life insurance policy with a guaranteed insurability option that would guarantee him the opportunity to buy an additional $60,000 of coverage to protect his family by the time he was 40 years old!  Imagine that.  One thing led to another and Don became an agent for Fidelity Union Life Insurance Company and formed the foundation that is now Don Boozer & Associates.

Don has achieved goals that would stymie the average person;

He served in all of the chairs of his local life underwriters association, serving as president in 1969-70.

He founded Don Boozer & Associates in 1969.  DB&A now operates nationwide and serves the needs of over 1000 professional agents.

He served on the board and in all of the chairs of the Texas Association of Life Underwriters between 1976 and 1986, serving as president in 1985-86.  During Don’s year as president, TALU achieved its largest membership to that date of over 9500 members.

He served on numerous committees for the National Association of Life Underwriters until 1990.

He served on the board of the National Brokerage Consortium, becoming only the second president ever in 2000 & 2002.  When Don became president of NBC, there were only 8 members.  During his two year presidency, he laid groundwork for future growth and development that would increase membership and broaden the scope of the organization.  NBC currently has 32 agency members from Rhode Island to Washington State.

In 2003, he formed Next Generation University for the purpose of educating and training our younger agency executives in the basics of managing a brokerage life insurance agency.  He became the first ever Chancellor of NGU and, in that position guided the curriculum and growth of NGU to the present day.  On April 12, 2007 NGU will graduate its first 21 bachelor degree candidates.

Don is an avid photographer and is a consistent winner in regional competitions each year.

Don has been married to his childhood sweetheart for 44 years and has two kids, 4 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids.
